Frequently Asked Questions
What is ONERO™? ONERO™ is an evidence-based, supervised exercise program for people with osteoporosis, designed to improve bone density, improve muscle strength, and reduce risk of falls and fractures.
Do I need experience with strength training to participate in ONERO™? Not at all! Many of our participants have never lifted weights before starting ONERO™. We will teach you proper technique, help you become comfortable with the exercises, and gradually progress the resistance as your strength and confidence grow. You don’t need to be strong to get started—that’s what you’re here to build!
Is ONERO™ safe if I have osteoporosis?Yes. ONERO™ was specifically developed for people with low bone density. Exercises are taught and progressed under the supervision of physical therapists who are accredited ONERO™ providers, with an emphasis on proper technique and appropriate progression. Your initial Assessment & Onboarding Session also allows us to identify individual considerations before you begin classes.
How often should I attend ONERO™ classes? We recommend attending ONERO™ classes twice per week, with at least one rest day between classes. This allows adequate recovery while providing the consistent training needed to build strength and support bone health.
Am I too old to start lifting weights? Absolutely not! It is never too late to benefit from strength training. We’ll meet you at your current level and help you safely build strength, confidence, and independence over time.
Do you take insurance? ARK Wellness is a private-pay practice offering wellness and fitness consultations and small-group training. We do not bill insurance or provide superbills for insurance reimbursement. If, during your initial assessment, we identify concerns that may warrant medically necessary physical therapy, we will discuss this with you and recommend that you pursue appropriate physical therapy services.
How do I get started? Please visit our ONERO™ page for information about the Assessment & Onboarding Session, current pricing, and class schedule.
